New Years Eve Party

When I was growing up we used to go to Mexico every December for Christmas.  I have great memories of Santa para-sailing onto the beach, in shorts of course, and sipping on a Kir Royales with my mom.  Now my mom hardly ever had a drink, but every once in a while when we were on vacation we could get her to indulge…in one.  Her and my dad’s rules were, when in Rome do as the Romans.  So, after we were 18…er, 16…we were allowed to have one drink, does Mexico have a legal drinking age?  Since my mom is not longer with us, I thought sipping a Kir Royale would be the perfect drink for this New Year’s Eve!   For those of you that have never had one, they are wonderful.  Creme de Cassis is a liquor made from blackcurrants and add the bubbly…yum-o!  You can read all about the history of Kir Royales here.

  14. So many rich Memories is what makes the Holidays so Special! My Mum gave me the recipe for Bailey’s Irish Cream… she once knew a Friend that worked in their Factory and gave her the recipe… it is fabulous and I felt so fortunate that she was able to share the recipe with me. One of our Daughters and Family live in Mexico… I shall have to ask her if there is a drinking age there… I know in Europe where my Mum is from the drinking age is quite a bit younger than in America! *Winks*
